Library Card and Loan Policies

Library Cards

All residents of New London are invited to complete an application form to receive a free library card.
School-age children are eligible to apply for library cards, completed applications must be signed by a parent.

Non-residents are eligible for library cards upon payment of an annual fee. School-age children in the Kearsarge School District are eligible for a free library card, for use by the student only.

Use of the collection within the building is free and accessible to all.


Owners of businesses located in New London are now eligible for one free library card, whether the business owns or rents space. Non-profit organizations are included.

To apply for a card, the owner or Chief Executive Officer must complete a business card application along with accepted proof of business presence in New London to the Circulation Desk. In addition to the business information, the home address and phone information of the owner/CEO must be provided. Post office boxes are accepted as mailing addresses for the business, but are not considered proof of address. A lease, current tax bill or utility bill will be required as proof.

The following guidelines apply to business cards:
• Persons wishing to borrow materials using the business card must have it with them.
• The owner/CEO accepts financial responsibility for all fines and fees accrued.
• Cards are issued for three years and are considered void if the business leaves New London.
• Changes in location or phone number must be updated at the Circulation Desk.

Materials may be renewed by phone, call 526-4656, or by email (please include your name and card number in the message).

*Books and audios may be renewed twice.
